Summit Natural Gas announces communities to receive transmission, distribution lines


Summit Natural Gas plans construction in the following communities this year for its main transmission and smaller distribution gas lines. 

The steel transmission lines will form the framework that moves the natural gas from one community to another. The lines are 10 inches in diameter and smaller.

The plastic distribution lines connect the transmission lines to local businesses and homes. These lines are eight inches in diameter and smaller.

Distribution lines: Civic Center Drive from Commerce Drive to Gay Walk Street, Commerce Drive, Industrial Drive, MarketPlace Drive (MarketPlace at Augusta), Stephen King Drive, Anthony Avenue, Darin Avenue, University Drive, Community Drive, Townsend Road, Old Belgrade Road from Northern Avenue to I-95, Northern Avenue, Water Street, Western Avenue (Augusta Plaza, Shaw’s Plaza, Turnpike Mall), State Street from Winthrop Street to Hallowell line, Bangor Street from Cony Circle to Route 3, Stone Street, Hospital Street from Route 3 to state complex, Route 17 from Hospital Street to Cony Road, Cony Road to Cony Street Extension, Cony Street Extension to Pierce Drive.
Transmission line: Cony Road (beginning in the south) to Church Hill Road, Church Hill Road to intersection of Route 3, Route 3 to West River Road.

Transmission line: Route 9 to Hallowell Road, Hallowell Road to Cony Road, Cony Road to Augusta city line.

Distribution lines: Center Road, Western Avenue, High Street, Main Street. 
Transmission line: Route 23 (Oakland Road) to Route 139 (Norridgewock Road), Route 139 to Norridgewock town line, Route 139 to Middle Road, Middle Road to Skowhegan town line.      

Distribution lines: Maine Avenue.

Distribution lines: Maine Avenue to Bridge Street, Bridge Street to Brunswick Avenue, Northern Avenue from Maine Avenue to Mount Vernon Street, Highland Avenue from Bridge Street to Pope Street, Brunswick Avenue from Water Street to High Holborn Street, Water Street from Brunswick Avenue to River Avenue.

Distribution lines: Winthrop Street from Water Street to Oakwood Drive, Water Street. 

Distribution lines: Maple Street from Main Street to Garfield Street, Garfield Street, Route 43 from Weston Avenue to River Road. 
Transmission line: Route 139 to Kennebec Street, Kennebec Street to Pine Street, Pine Street to Main Street.

Transmission line: Route 139 to Upper Main Street, U.S. Route 201A to Madison town line.   

Transmission line: Country Club Road to Kennedy Memorial Drive, Kennedy Memorial Drive to Route 23, Route 23 to Fairfield town line.

Transmission line: Moulton Road to Route 27, Route 27 to Randolph town line.

Transmission line: Middle Road from Fairfield town line to Varney Road, Varney Road

Transmission line: Route 27 to junction of Route 9,  Route 9 to Chelsea town line.

Transmission line: U.S. Route 201 to Winslow town line.

Distribution lines: College Avenue, Main Street including Elm Plaza, Sanger Avenue, North Street from Sanger Avenue to Eustis Parkway, Industrial Street, but not including Eagle Rental or Elks Lodge, Front Street from Bridge Street to Park Street, Spring Street from Elm Street to Concourse Plaza, Elm Street, Silver Street, Kennedy Memorial Drive from Country Club Road to Silver Street.
Transmission line: Webb Road to Country Club Road, Country Club Road to Oakland town line.

Transmission line: U.S. Route 201 from Vassalboro town line to location north of Verti Drive.
