L.D. 531, "An Act To Allow Students To Audit Classes at University of Maine System Campuses": requires that the University of Maine System permit students to audit a class if there is space and charge a fee of $50 to $250 to do so.
L.D. 532, "An Act To Amend the Laws Governing the Maine State Library": changes many aspects of the state library. It removes the requirement of a bookmobile, the Department of Education's requirement of maintaining and providing a video library, a requirement to make a gift of money or books to a municipality that is establishing a free library, requirement that the state librarian distribute the histories to school, state, institutional and public libraries and authority to sell surplus books.
Maine's Workforce and Economic Future Committee; public hearings; room 211; Cross Building
L.D. 90, "An Act To Strengthen Maine's Workforce and Economic Future": closes the skills gap by strengthening the place-based economic engines such as downtowns, farms etc.
L.D. 516, "An Act To Create the Integrated Manufacturing Program Fund": establishes the Integrated Manufacturing Program Fund within the Maine Community College System to support the education and training of the manufacturing workforce.
L.D. 578, "An Act To Award Academic Credit to Service Members for Military Education, Experience and Training": requires the University of Maine System, the Maine Community College System and the Maine Maritime Academy to develop a system to give veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces academic credit for relevant experience, education and training obtained during military service and report by Dec. 1, 2014.
L.D. 737, "An Act To Promote Workforce Development and Training in the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Energy Efficiency and Conservation Trades": promotes collaboration between the state and a private-sector training center focusing on training workers in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and energy efficiency and conservation trades that serves more than 200 students per year.

L.D. 339, "An Act To Require Public Hearings by the Legislature To Be Recorded and Posted on the Internet": requires that all joint standing committee public hearings are recorded and made accessible to the public as a written transcript, audio recording, video recording or other electronic recording on the Legislature's website within 72 hours of a public hearing beginning Jan. 1, 2014.
Marine Resources Committee; work sessions; room 206; Cross Building
L.D. 182, "An Act To Support the Maine Lobster Industry": adds $1 million to the Lobster Promotion Council for this fiscal year.
L.D. 469, "An Act To Allow the Commissioner of Marine Resources To Investigate Price Fixing of Lobster": emergency bill, authorizes the commissioner of Marine Resources to investigate lobster price fixing and requires the attorney general to help at the request of the commissioner.
L.D. 486, "An Act To Provide for the Effective Marketing and Promotion of Maine Lobster": increases the surcharged on harvester and dealer licenses, changes the criteria for membership on the Lobster Promotion Council and requires the council to report annually to the joint standing committee, the Lobster Advisory Council and the lobster industry.
L.D. 604, "An Act Regarding Commercial Elver Fishing Licenses Issued by the Penobscot Nation": emergency bill, increases the number of commercial licenses for the taking of elvers that the Penobscot Nation may issue in any calendar year to 48 and specifies that the Commissioner of Marine Resources and Penobscot Nation determine elver resources are sufficient to permit the issuance licensees.
