The Greenland Police Department learned recently that Maloney's name will be part of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, which is in an area known as Judiciary Square.
A ceremony recognizing Maloney and other officers who have died in the line of duty is scheduled for May 15, 2013.
The 48-year-old Maloney was shot to death during an April 12 drug raid just days before he was scheduled to retire. Four other officers were wounded before the shooter killed his girlfriend and himself.
The Portsmouth Herald reports (bit.ly/R3Vnnr) that plans are in the works to send some officers to attend the memorial ceremony.
