BANGOR — Maine law enforcement officials say they’ve likely found the remains of a 15-year-old Glenburn girl last seen more than a week ago.
It appears Nichole Cable’s body was found around 9:30 p.m. Monday at a wooded site off Route 43 in Old Town, according to Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

He said more details would be released at a 11:30 a.m. press conference Tuesday at the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department in Bangor, and the State Medical Examiner’s Office would also examine the body Tuesday.
Cable’s mother says she was last seen Sunday, May 12, when she went outside to see someone she’d met over the Internet. It wasn’t immediately clear if she had run off or been involuntarily taken, but as days passed, authorities suspected foul play.
On Monday, a Maine Forest Service helicopter was used to search the Hudson and Old Town area by air while search dogs were used on the ground. It wasn’t immediatetly clear if the body was found in that area.
Maine State Police said more than 350 volunteers helped with a massive ground search Sunday. Road blocks were also set up at night near Route 221 in Hudson and Route 43 in West Old Town to seek information from drivers.
Police had originally sought a black Ford Ranger or similar-style pickup truck seen in Cable’s neighborhood the night of her disapperance. But on Monday, McCausland didn’t say whether police had a suspect or if they located that vehicle.
