GARDINER — Residents in all four towns in Regional School Unit 11 signed off on a $21.5 million budget for next year in Tuesday’s vote.

The budget approved for next year is 0.35 percent higher than this year’s budget and will cause tax increases in all towns besides Gardiner.

The budget passed with 59 percent of the vote, according to results from the district office.

Based on changes to the state valuation in each town, the local assessment will fall by 0.1 percent in Gardiner and rise by 1.6 percent in Pittston, 8.7 percent in Randolph and 7.7 percent in West Gardiner.

For a property assessed at $100,000, that means an annual property tax savings of $.85 in Gardiner, and increases of $15.97 in Pittston, $81.48 in Randolph and $66.60 in West Gardiner.

Voters in all four towns also approved continuing the budget validation referendum process for another three years with 64 percent of the total vote.
