PRESQUE ISLE — Plans are being announced for Presque Isle to play host to next year's International Biathlon Union Youth-Junior World Championships.
The event is expected to bring 350 of the world's top biathletes, under the age of 21, from more than 30 countries to Aroostook County between Feb. 28 and March 7, 2014.
The international event will take place at the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle.
The 2013 IBU Youth and Junior World Championships were held in Obertilliach, Austria.
A news conference was held Thursday in Maine to announce the countdown to next year's championships.
