AUGUSTA — A 20-year-old Chelsea woman was behind bars Tuesday, charged with robbing a man of $260 after he was bashed over the head with a bottle of Bud Lite.
Nicole Amber Breton is accused of robbing Alfred Arbour after he gave her and two men a ride from Chapel Street to a Northern Avenue address about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 8.
In a court affidavit requesting a warrant for Breton’s arrest, Augusta police Sgt. Christian Behr said Arbour described one man hitting him in the head with a beer bottle and the other man choking him by his shirt collar. Arbour said the men emptied his wallet and then threw it into the street.
Police located blood on the street and collected a beer bottle as evidence.
Breton was arrested on Monday and taken to the Kennebec County jail. It was unclear Tuesday whether the two men had been arrested or charged in connection with the incident.
According to the affidavit, Arbour had a broken nose and a concussion, and one eye was swollen shut. He was treated for injuries at MaineGeneral Medical Center.
A judge on Tuesday set Breton’s bail at $750 in cash.
