Catherine Nadeau, a Democrat of Winslow, remained the winner of House District 54 following a recount Monday evening, the Secretary of State's Office said today.

Nadeau defeated Republican incumbent Susan Morrissette by 52 votes. Nadeau earned 2,248 votes and Morrissette got 2,196. The district covers Winslow and part of Benton.

This is the tenth recount to be completed, with four more scheduled. Today is the recount for Senate District 20, in which incumbent Christopher Johnson, a Democrat, is leading Rep. Les Fossel, a Republican, by 134 votes. The recount for the Lincoln County Senate district is expected to take most of the day.
