DOVER, N.H. — Police have accused a New Hampshire couple of denying the woman's child food and taping her hands to the wall.
Dover police responding to a disturbance last month said they found the girl, who appeared to have suffered injuries. They said she was under 13. They had her checked out and later arrested the couple, 22-year-old Cheryll Morgan and 24-year-old Steven Smith, on assault and child endangerment charges.
Morgan pleaded not guilty last week to simple assault and endangering the welfare of a child. She's accused of striking the girl and denying her food.
Smith is scheduled to be arraigned Friday on a second-degree assault charge, accused of causing bodily injury, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly denying her food and taping her hands.
