Motorist dies in Jonesport crash

JONESPORT — A Jonesport man is dead following a crash in that eastern Maine town.

Lt. Travis Willey of the Washington County Sheriff's Department tells WABI-TV that 56-year-old Randy Thistlewood was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash Sunday morning on Main Street.

Police say Thistlewood was speeding, lost control and began to skid. Thistlewood's car crossed the center line and hit a truck travelling in the other direction.

The driver of the truck had minor injuries and called 911 to report the accident.
