Charges in high-speed pursuit include attempted murder

The Associated Press

BANGOR — A Medway man accused of leading police on a 15-mile, high-speed pursuit through three towns and driving his car directly at a police officer is scheduled to face a judge.

Police say 27-year-old Lauren MacArthur is expected to appear in court today to answer to charges including aggravated attempted murder and eluding a police officer.

The Bangor Daily News reports that he could face gun charges if he is tied to a weapon found near his vehicle after he was arrested in Milford on Friday night.

Police say the chase started when a state trooper attempted to pull MacArthur over on Interstate 95 in Old Town. He allegedly led police on a chase at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour into Orono, where he is accused of driving his car directly at an officer.
