SKOWHEGAN — A Detroit man accused of entering a Cambridge woman’s home through an unlocked door and stealing prescription medication admitted to the crime on Monday.

Joshua Chase, 28, pleaded guilty to charges of robbery, burglary and theft Monday morning in Skowhegan District Court, according to court records. A Waterville man and woman from Hartland have also been charged in connection with the March 23 home invasion and are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

They are among 17 people to be indicted last week by a Somerset County Grand Jury. An indictment is not a determination of guilt but means that there is enough evidence to bring a case to trial.

Ryan Spaulding, 24, of Waterville, and Melinda Riggs, 25, of Hartland, were each indicted on charges of robbery, burglary, theft and assault.

Chase was originally indicted on an assault charge as well, but according to court records that charge has been dismissed.

According to police, the two men entered the home of a 34-year-old Cambridge woman through an unlocked door at around 1:20 a.m. on March 23. They wore masks to cover their faces and used physical force when the victim tried to stop them from stealing methadone, a drug she had been prescribed, according to the court records.
