AUGUSTA — Maine gas prices continue to rise, but the good news is they are not rising as fast as they are nationally.
Price-monitoring website MaineGasPrices.com reports Monday that the average retail cost of a gallon of gas rose more than four cents in the past week to $3.76.
Meanwhile, the national average jumped almost six cents per gallon, to an average of $3.55.
The Maine price is based on a survey of more than 1,200 gas stations in the state.
Maine prices are now almost 12 cents per gallon higher than the same day a year ago and nearly 22 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.
