LEWISTON — Maine Gov. Paul LePage plans to be among the speakers at a Tax Day event in Lewiston.
The Republican governor will highlight a list of speakers and tax activists Sunday afternoon at an event marking the federal income tax filing deadline. LePage has sought to lower state tax rates.
Because April 15th falls on a Sunday and Patriots’ Day in the 16th, the state income tax filing deadline is Tuesday April 17th.
The Lewiston Tax Day rally is being held at the Franco-Heritage Center.
Also participating will be tea-party activists and other groups.
