Lemonade Day plans set in Maine

PORTLAND — Registration for Lemonade Day Maine, aimed at encouraging entrepreneurial spirit in young Mainers, is here.

Parents and children can register at the Maine Mall in South Portland on Saturday and get their Lemonade Day Maine backpack, which includes a business plan workbook and many other materials to help young entrepreneurs succeed.

Also on Saturday, Haley Huston, last year's lemonade recipe contest winner, will have her lemonade stand set up in the Maine Mall and help register kids for this year's event.

Several registration events will be held in locations throughout the area through mid-May. The official Lemonade Day Maine, when kids from all over the state set up their stands and sell lemonade, will be June 3.

Lemonade Day is part of a nationwide effort.
