Dresden house fire reignites on Friday
DRESDEN — Crews on Friday were called back to the scene of a Thanksgiving Day fire that destroyed a Middle Road home owned by a local firefighter.
Fire Chief Gerald Lilly said debris from the home at 1115 Middle Road reignited Friday morning. Dresden firefighters spent about 30 minutes dousing the flames.
The home, owned by Lilly’s brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Rosemary Lilly, was leveled by flames Thursday afternoon. Albert Lilly is a Dresden firefighter.
The fire chief said the blaze was apparently sparked by a wood stove.
Two firefighters were checked for smoke inhalation but there were no serious injuries.
Gerald Lilly said he believes the home is insured.

10:13 a.m., there was a report of a burglary from a vehicle on Monroe Street.
10:20 a.m., a 26-year-old Augusta man was charged with theft by police responding to a shoplifting complaint at Walmart on Civic Center Drive.
11:03 a.m., there was an accident on Northern Avenue.
1:24 p.m., there was a hit-and-run accident reported on Stone Street.
1:46 p.m., mischief was reported at Sears on Whitten Road.
3:06 p.m., there was a report of a hit-and-run accident on Whitten Road.
3:43 p.m., shoplifting was reported at Walmart on Civic Center Drive.

At 5:56 p.m., suspicious activity was reported on Main Street.
6:04 p.m., there was an accident on Union Street.
6:23 p.m., theft was reported on Hudson Lane.
Thursday
At 2:35 p.m., theft was reported on Winthrop Center Road.

Thursday
At 4:28 p.m., Linda Marie Gallant, 52, of Augusta was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct by police responding to a report of intoxicated people on State Street.
5:55 p.m., Lloyd Everett Bowden, 54, of Augusta was arrested on a warrant by police responding to a report of disorderly conduct on Gage Street.
8:38 p.m., Nicholas D. Gowell, 35, of Windsor was arrested on a probation hold on Water Street.
