Kennebec Journal area police log, Feb. 5, 2013




At 8:17 p.m., there was an accident at the intersection of North and Bennett streets. 


At 12:15 a.m., a 23-year-old Vassalboro man was charged with operating after suspension, operating with a suspended registration and violating conditions of release during a vehicle stop on Western Avenue.

8:35 a.m., there was a report of a disturbance on Mount Vernon Avenue.

9:52 a.m., firefighters responded to an alarm at the Green Street Methodist Church. 

10:37 a.m., theft was reported on Civic Center Drive. 

1:13 p.m., mischief was reported on State Street. 

1:32 p.m., traffic light problems were reported at the intersection of North Belfast Avenue and Route 3.

2:14 p.m., trespassing was reported on Sewall Street. 

2:37 p.m., an assault was reported on Leighton Road. 

2:50 p.m., drug offenses were reported at Bread of Life Ministries’ Lawrence House on Water Street. 

3:10 p.m., disorderly conduct was reported at Bread of Life’s Libby House on Orchard Street.

3:17 p.m., threatening was reported at McDonald’s on Bangor Street. 

3:22 p.m., disorderly conduct was reported on Jefferson Street.



At 5:27 p.m., a burglary was reported on Dr. Mann Road. 



At 10:45 a.m., there was a report of suspicious activity on Harrison Avenue. 

3:35 p.m., a burglary was reported on Brunswick Avenue. 

3:37 p.m., theft was reported on Cobbossee Avenue. 

4:38 p.m., there was an accident on Bridge Street. 

6:04 p.m., there was an accident on Bridge Street. 

6:33 p.m., threatening was reported on West Hill Road. 


Jan. 30

A 2003 Mazda Protegé being driven north on South Clary Road by a 63-year-old Damariscotta woman slid into a guardrail and off the road. A 2004 Chevrolet C1500 being driven north on the same road by a 23-year-old Damariscotta man then slid out of control as he tried to slow down for the accident. The truck slid off the road and rolled over.  


A 201 Cadillac Escalade being driven north on Bunker Hill Road by a 49-year-old Jefferson woman hit a deer. 


Someone tried to steal rods and copper wiring. 



At 3:17 p.m., a burglary was reported on Route 194.



Police responded to an alarm and discovered someone had tried to break into a summer home. 


Jan. 30

A 1998 Oldsmobile Eight-Eight being driven north on Gardiner Road by an 84-year-old Whitefield man went off the road as it rounded the corner and stopped in a small grove of trees. The driver told police she was distracted by an unknown object that caused her to take her eyes off the road. 


There was a report of a burglary. Someone entered through a basement window and stole about $1,500 in jewelry. 



At 6:51 p.m., disorderly conduct was reported on Turkey Lane. 


At 9:45 a.m., there was a stray animal on Gailville Street. 

10:18 a.m., suspicious activity was reported on Town Hall Lane. 




At 1:08 p.m., Jessica M. Johnson, 26, of Gardiner, was arrested on a warrant at the Gardiner Police Department on Church Street.
