Police agencies execute drug warrants

AUGUSTA — Multiple police agencies swarmed areas of the city and elsewhere Friday, executing search warrants as part of ongoing drug investigations, authorities said.

Lt. Christopher Massey of the Augusta Police Department said late Friday that his force, as well as the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office and Maine State Police, were involved in the operations. He declined to comment further on the police activity, saying only that police were still investigating.

Kennebec County Sheriff Randall Liberty said at least three warrants were executed Friday afternoon — two in Augusta and another in Belgrade — and that the searches were drug-related.
