Two women injured in Route 126 accident in Litchfield
LITCHFIELD -- Two people were injured Friday in a two-car crash on Route 126.
Evelyn Eppinger, 44, of West Gardiner and a passenger in the second vehicle, Judy Smith, 59, of East Dixfield, were both taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta with what were believed to be minor injuries, said Chief Deputy Everett Flannery of the Kennebec County Sheriff's Office.
The driver of the second car, Leslie Smith, 68, of East Dixfield, was not injured, Flannery said.
The crash occurred around 8:35 p.m., as Eppinger drove a 2007 Kia Sorento east on Route 126. Eppinger lost control of the car on a patch of ice, Flannery said. The car went across the road and hit the front corner of the Smiths' westbound 2004 Chrysler Sebring.
