Healthy People names 11 employers as Workplace Well-Being Award winners

Eleven Waterville area employers were recently honored for supporting and improving the health and well-being of their employees.

Healthy People of the Kennebec Valley recognized the employers with its first Workplace Well-Being Awards, according to a news release from the organization.

The 2013 Gold Award winners are: Inland Hospital, Kennebec Technologies, MaineGeneral Health and Maine Veterans' Homes.

2013 Silver Award winners are: Huhtamaki, J.S. McCarthy Printers, Kennebec Valley Community Action Program, Kennebec Valley Community College, Lohmann Animal Health International, Performance Foodservice — NorthCenter and Valley Distributors.

The awards were presented at the Kennebec Chamber of Commerce Business Insider's Breakfast in April and at the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce Business Breakfast in May.  

The organization is supported by MaineGeneral Medical Center and the two chambers.
