The National Weather Service in Gray has issued a weather warning for northern Franklin and central Somerset Counties, to remain in effect through 8 a.m. Monday.
Snow, sleet and freezing rain are expected.

About noon Sunday, dispatchers at both the Somerset County Communications Center and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in Farmington reported it was raining in those towns.
Franklin received about one and a half inches of snow Saturday night, and there were periods of freezing rain, but by Sunday morning, it had stopped, according to Dispatcher Tom Marble.
“It’s mostly rain at the moment,” Marble said just before noon.
A Somerset dispatcher also reported it was raining and said he had not received any calls about weather-related problems.
Rain also was pounding the streets in Waterville on Sunday morning.
Waterville Communications Center dispatcher Joel Waye said just before noon that he had received only one weather-related call.
“I had one complaint in Winslow of a storm drain plugged, at Poulin and Halifax (streets),” he said.
The National Weather Service warning said snow accumulation in Franklin and Somerset counties was expected to be 4 to 8 inches, possibly including one-tenth of an inch of ice.
“Occasional mixed precipitation will continue through tonight,” it said Sunday. “It should end Monday.”
Roads are expected to be slippery, and areas that get heavy, wet snow may see scattered power outages, according to the National Weather Service.
