A flood watch issued by the National Weather Service in Gray for Maine is expected to remain in effect until late afternoon as the state experiences several days of warmer weather.

But so far Maine has seen no flooding, said Tom Hawley, meteorologist with the weather service. Waters have reached flood stage on a couple of New Hampshire rivers .

The Pemigewasset River has reached flood stage in Plymouth, N.H., but has receded after reaching flood stage in Woodstock, N.H. The Saco River in Conway, N.H., which reached flood stage overnight, has also receded below flood stage.

Saturday’s freezing rain and rainstorm and warming temperatures raised concerns that ice dams would form on rivers and near culverts, blocking melting water and creating floods.

Daytime highs are expected to reach into the 40s in most parts of the state Sunday and Monday, and into the upper 30s in the mountains and northern Maine. Lows will dip down to the 20s along the coast and the teens inland.

The next precipitation, possibly a mix of rain and snow, is expected around dawn on Tuesday with more precipitation on Wednesday. An Arctic blast could be back next weekend, Hawley said.
