Fire on Hospital Street in Augusta

AUGUSTA - Firefighters are on the scene of a reported structure fire at an apartment building at 208 Hospital Street.

Firefighters work at the scene of a fire in a four-unit apartment building at 208 Hospital Street in Augusta this afternoon. Winthrop, Chelsea and Togus fire departments also responded to the blaze that heavily damaged portions of the building.

The fire was reported about 2:45 this afternoon.

The structure is reported to be a two-story, wood-frame apartment building.

Hospital Street has been closed to traffic in the area.
