Caratunk residents will gather tonight to consider a $366,000 town budget, the same figure as last year’s, but the tax rate will go down.

First Selectwoman Elizabeth Caruso said the municipal budget is unchanged this year and that the tax rate actually will go down in 2014 now that a road paving bond is paid off.

The town’s tax rate is $9.80 per $1,000 valuation.

The meeting is 7 p.m. at the Town Office.

Elections will also be held from the floor. There are no officially contested races. Incumbent third selectman Donna Dickstein is on the ballot for a three-year term. Town Clerk Tina Belanger and Town Treasurer and Tax Collector Doris LeMay are also on the ballot uncontested. The positions are elected annually.

The town’s population is 60.
