Bowdoinham man allegedly robbed at knifepoint inside his home

BOWDOINHAM — Two Massachusetts men are facing multiple charges after police say they broke into a man’s home and held a blade to his throat while demanding drugs and money.

Jorge Santiago, 30, and Miguel Rodriguez, 29, both of Lawrence, were arrested in the woods shortly after the home invasion and charged with robbery, terrorizing and criminal trespass, Sagadahoc County Sheriff Joel Merry said in a press release.

Santiago and Rodriguez were being held at the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset in lieu of $10,000 bail each.

Merry said Santiago and Rodriguez broke into the home of Rodney Skipper at 473 Carding Machine Road around  3:30 p.m., Saturday.

“The suspects entered his home and demanded cash, marijuana and medications,” Merry said. “One suspect held a razor to Mr. Skippers throat before fleeing with both the money and the drugs.”
Skipper made it to the neighbor’s house and called for help, Merry said.

Sagadahoc County Sheriff Deputies, Richmond Police and the Maine Warden Service converged on the area to search for the two men.

Cpl. Ian Alexander of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff Office noticed a fresh set of footprints left in the snow as he responded to the call, Merry said.

“He and (Game) Warden Robert Decker were able to track the suspects and apprehend them in the woods,” Merry said.

The investigation is ongoing. Merry encouraged anyone with information to call his office at 386-5827.
