BATH — A political activist from Bath was arrested on Sunday during a protest against what they say is the illegal use of drones in Afghanistan, Pakistan and other countries.

Bruce Gagnon, 60, of Bath, was one of 31 members of the Upstate Coalition to Ground the Drones and End the Wars, who was arrested during a protest at Hancock Air Force Base in Syracuse.

His partner, Mary Beth Sullivan, said he was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing. Gagnon was expected to return to Maine on Tuesday.

Gagnon is a co-coordinator of the campaign to Bring War $$ Home in Maine and is also a coordinator for the Global Network against Weapons & Nuclear Power in Space.

More than 275 people participated in the protest, according to a press release issued by the Syracuse Peace Council.
