BANGOR — Prosecutors say a Bangor police detective has been issued a summons for operating under the influence.
Penobscot County District Attorney R. Christopher Almy confirmed Thursday that Detective Erik Tall was on duty at the time of the alleged incident on Oct. 3.
Almy tells the Bangor Daily News a criminal complaint was being prepared.
Tall could not immediately be reached for comment.
Interim Police Chief Lt. Mark Hathaway referred questions about the incident to the city manager’s office.
City Manager Cathy Conlow confirmed that a police department employee has been placed on unpaid leave pending the outcome of an external investigation into alleged misconduct, but she did not disclose a name.
Tall is a 15-year veteran of the department.
