Augusta woman charged in Friday stabbing

Donald Ladson was taken to MaineGeneral Hospital after he was stabbed Friday night in the couple’s Gage Street apartment

AUGUSTA — A Gage Street woman was arrested Friday night after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend.

Ariana Lee Doherty, 27, was arrested and charged with elevated aggravated assault for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Donald Ladson, 45, in the apartment they shared on Gage Street.

Ladson was taken by ambulance to MaineGeneral Medical Center to be treated for his injuries and has since been discharged.

Augusta Police Department Sgt. Danny Boivin was not sure of the extent of Ladson’s injuries or the nature of the conflict between the pair.

The stabbing was reported at 9:30 p.m. Friday.

No one else was in the couple’s apartment at the time of the stabbing, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.

Doherty is being held without bail at Kennebec County jail.
