AUGUSTA — Police today sought an alleged armed robber on Boothby Street.
A search in the area failed to turn up the suspect, who may have been armed with a pistol, and allegedly attempted to rob another person around 12:40 p.m., according to Deputy Chief Jared Mills of the Augusta Police.

“Witnesses described the male suspect to have brandished a handgun,” Mills said.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male wearing a black sweatshirt and gray pants.
The victim of the alleged robbery has does not wish to pursue charges and was uncooperative, Mills said.
Several Augusta police officers, along with Kennebec County Sheriff Cpl. G.J. Neagle and his dog, Draco, spent nearly an hour searching the area but were unable to find the alleged robber.
There was a report that the suspect may have been shot, but Mills said no shots were fired.
“Nobody was injured during this incident,” Mills said.
He asked anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to call Officer Peter Cloutier at 626-2370, extension 5036.
