AUGUSTA — An Augusta man was taken to the hospital Monday after two cars collided on Route 3.

Robert Story, 30, of Augusta, was taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta with non life-threatening injuries, said Sgt. Mark Desjardin of the Augusta Police.

Both Story and the driver of the second vehicle, Ryan Doyon, 23, of Chelsea, were alone in their vehicles.

“Both had complaints of injury but only Story went to the hospital,”

The accident occurred around 1:30 p.m., as Doyon’s 2000  GMC Yukon was stopped in the west-bound lane waiting to turn left onto upper Lambert Avenue, Desjardin said.

Story’s 2007 Kia four door hit the Doyon’s sport utility vehicle from behind and pushed in into the east bound lane.

Neither speed nor substances was a factor in the crash, Desjardin said. There are no charges.

Doyon’s Yukon sustained an estimated $3,000 in damage. Damage to Story’s Kia was estimated at $5,000.
