Another winter storm headed toward Maine

Snow, rain and sleet expected Thursday into Friday morning.

The Associated Press

PORTLAND – The Nor’easter that’s due to arrive on Thursday in Maine has potential for a foot of snow.

The National Weather Service says snow will arrive in southernmost Maine around 8 a.m. and in Portland between 10 a.m. and noon. Meteorologist Tom Hawley says it’s reasonable to assume Portland will get 8 or 9 inches of snow, while inland areas could see a foot of snow.

The amount of snow depends on the precise storm track, and the computer models are not in agreement.

Hawley says the rain could turn into sleet and light rain on the coast. He says the precipitation is expected to end Friday morning.
