Man charged with OUI after I-95 rollover

A Boothbay man was charged with operating under the influence after his Chevy pickup truck rolled over three times while traveling north Thursday night on Interstate 95 near mile marker 106 in Farmingdale, according to state police.

Jonathan McNutt, 31, was ejected partially from the vehicle, and Gardiner Fire and Rescue personnel had to cut the roof open to free him, said Trooper Lee Vanadestine, from Troop G in South Portland.

McNutt, who suffered minor cuts and bruises, was taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center by ambulance for a blood-alcohol test and released Saturday, Vanadestine said.

Vanadestine said witnesses reported seeing the vehicle moving erratically and hitting guard rails before going off the highway and overturning.

The Maine Turnpike Authority closed the right northbound lane while emergency crews worked at the scene, but reopened it around 10:20 p.m.

The accident was reported to police originally as being a multi-vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer, but that proved not to be the case, police said.
