Six-month-old Charlotte Smith yawns as her mother Sarah Smith fills a bag of parsnips for a customer at the Grassland Organic Farm booth on the first day of the summer market season at the Farmers Market at Mill Park in Augusta. Smith said that there will be 17 vendors this year selling vegetables, meat, cheese, eggs, milk, syrup and honey. Smith said that there is plenty parking even with the construction project going on in the park. The temperature was around 40 degrees on the first day of summer hours, which run from 2 to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays. Mill Park is on Northern Avenue between downtown Augusta and St. Augustine Church.
