GARDINER -- Two artists, Andrea Sulzer and Donna Parkinson, have received summer fellowship grants to pursue independent projects in fine art printmaking throughout the summer at Circling the Square Fine Art Press.
Sulzer of Woolwich, is a professional artist with a studio in Brunswick, teaches art at the University of Maine at Augusta and has also taught at the Maine College of Art in Portland. She has recently held solo drawing exhibitions at the Coleman Burke Gallery in New York, N.Y., and at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art.
Parkinson, of Freeport, formerly of the Gardiner area, is entering her senior year as a studio art major at the University of Maine at Augusta, where she recently exhibited several works in the annual Juried Student Art Show.
Both artists will also assist with summer events at the press and will exhibit their work there during the annual Gardiner Artwalk on Aug. 13.
