AUGUSTA -- The eighth annual Infant Toddler Awareness Day was held Jan. 10 at the State House, Hall of Flags.
Legislators in attendance included Reps. Thomas Martin, Seth Berry, Stephen Hanley, Dennis Keschel, Anna Blodgett and Jonathan Madden. Regional childcare professionals and early childhood advocates provided information.
Speakers included Therese Cahill-Low on behalf of Mary Mayhew, commissioner of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services; James A. Clair, CEO of Goold Health Systems; Ed Cervone and Bill Braun, co-chairmen of Maine Children's Growth Council; and Lori Williams, the single mother of a child enrolled in Educare.
Cervone introduced the Maine Children's Growth Council's report, "Invest Early 2020: Building the Foundation for Maine's Future."
