VASSALBORO — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension will hold a free workshop on hayfield and pasture management — “Got Hayfields?” — from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 24 at the Vassalboro Grange on Route 32 in East Vassalboro.

Rick Kersbergen, a UMaine Extension educator in Waldo County, will lead the workshop, which will focus on how to best manage hayfields and pastures to produce high-quality feed for livestock.

Topics include weed control, managing soil fertility, hay and pasture renovation techniques, grazing management and basics of forage quality.
