About two dozen people gathered at noon Friday outside the Muskie Federal Building in Augusta to protest the National Defense Authorization Act and the votes of support by U.S. Sen. Susan Collins and U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe. A group spokeswoman said that the group also planned to deliver a letter to the senators’ offices in the building, outlining their concerns that the act allows the detention of American citizens and violates due process.
