Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine has announced the schedule of its upcoming Bowl For Kids’ Sake event. Participating teams raise pledge money and bowl in support of the organization’s mentoring programs in Kennebec and Somerset counties. Local businesses, organizations and individuals are welcome.

Events will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. — full house night — on May 1 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 3 at Sparetime Recreation in Waterville; from 4 to 8 p.m., with 24 teams between 4 and 6 p.m., on May 5 at Central Maine Family Fun Center in Skowhegan; and from 4 to 8 p.m., with full lanes from 4 to 7 p.m., on May 8 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 10 at Sparetime Recreation in Augusta.

Online registration is available at www.bbbsmidmaine.org, where teams can select a desired bowling date and time, and download pledge forms to raise money. Bowlers can also create personal online fundraising pages where supporters can make electronic pledges. Teams that raise $300 or more will receive free T-shirts at the event. Individuals who raise $100 or more are entered into a drawing for a gas grill.

Local businesses are welcome to become lane sponsors, donate prizes and register teams to participate. Volunteers are also needed at the event.
