High school basketball fans who can’t wait for the regular season, can see some of the state’s best players this weekend and next at the 11th annual MBR Preseason Tournament. Class A and B games will be played this weekend at Central Maine Community College in Auburn. Next Sunday, C and D players will play. Rosters have been set for A and B and inlcude several central Maine players.
Skowhegan’s Levi Barnes and Cony’s Walker Cooper will play for the East A team. Mt. Blue’s Eric Berry was also selected but may not play because of this weekend’s football obligation. The Class B East squad includes Gardiner’s Jake Palmer and Aaron Toman along with Maranacook’s Kyle Boucher. Winslow’s Nason Lanphier and Mt. View’s Steven Davis will play in the futures game.
On the girls side, Messalonskee’s Mary Badeen will play for the Class A East squad along with Cony’s Josie Lee. Representing Class B East are Winslow’s Elizabeth Ferry and Kylie and Kelsie Richards of Nokomis.
