High school and college basketball fans in general and Maranacook fans in particular might want to check out today’s basketball game between the Keene State Owls and the University of Southern Maine Huskies. Game time is 3 p.m. at USM’s Hill Gymnasium in Gorham
The game features a matchup of two of the top point guards in the Little East Conference, Keene’s Ryan Martin and USM’s Mike Poulin. The pair were teammates on two state Class B championshop teams at Maranacook.
The teams played last month with Keene State pulling out a 79-78 win. Martin and Poulin guarded one another a good portion of the game. Martin is leading the Owls with a 15 point a game average — he’s also made 65 of 66 free thorws — while Poulin is one of the top defenders in the conference.
