Today was special day at the Kennebec Journal's office on Western Ave. in Augusta. Five students who were named athletes of the year in their respective sports last fall visited the KJ for a photo shoot for the Fall Sports Preview cover.
Kennebec Journal Football Player of the Year Luke Duncklee of Cony; Morning Sentinel Girls Soccer Player of the Year Jordan Pellerin of Waterville; Kennebec Journal Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year Abby Mace of Maranacook; Morning Sentinel Field Hockey Player of the Year Hayleigh Kein of Mt. View; and Kennebec Journal Golfer of the Year Kyle Bonenfant of Cony spent about an hour in recently vacated press room at the KJ with Andy Molloy.
The photos look great and one of them will grace the cover of the preview, which will be in papers Friday, Sept. 3.
I'd personally like to thanks each of these athletes for taking the time to travel to Augusta and for their patience during the shoot.
