SOUTH PORTLAND — The field for the Frank Gaziano High School Scholarship and Awards, given to the top offensive and defensive lineman in Maine high school football has a record 31 nominees.
Among the nominees for the annual Frank J. Gaziano Memorial Offensive and Defensive Lineman Awards are six local players. Caleb Champagne of Lawrence and Richard Moulton of Mt. View were nominated for the offensive lineman award, along with 16 other players. Eriq Stewart of Lawrence, Jake Stinson of Messalonskee, Zachary Kendall of Mt. View and Thomas Cox of Waterville were among the 13 players nominated for the defensive lineman award.
The award will be handed out at the annual banquet Sunday, Jan. 27 at the Augusta Civic Center.
