The Boston Globe has a story today about plans by various Republican organizations to spend money on state level races -- including contests for governor and state legislatures.

The story talks about "an aggressive effort to seize control of governorships and state houses across the country" and ties in the possible implications of the 2010 census.

Already, the Republican Governors Association has said it will spend money in Maine to help Waterville Mayor Paul LePage and manpower has been promised by the national committee as well.
