More than a dozen legislators will come to the State House Tuesday to announce their support for Republican gubernatorial candidate Paul LePage, the campaign announced today.
Among them are Rep. Paul Davis, R-Sangerville, a former Senate Minority Leader; Rep. Sue Austin, R-Gray and Rep. Bob Nutting, R-Oakland.
In recent weeks, many legislators have come out publicly for various candidates, including announcements last week by Sen. Carol Weston, R-Montville, and Assistant Senate Minority Leader Jon Courtney, R-Springvale, that they are backing Steve Abbott.
On a different topic, Democrat Rosa Scarcelli announced today that she has begun to air a radio ad in French. Narrated by Connie Cote, host of "La Revue Francais" on WEZR in Lewiston, the ads highlight Scarcelli's Maine roots and business experience, according to the campaign.
