ORONO — The University of Maine football team will play rival UMass at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. as part of its 2013 schedule.

Maine will play UMass at the New England Patriots stadium on Sept. 7. The Minutemen recently moved up to FBS level and will play in the Mid-American Conference. UMass owns a 40-15-1 record against the Black Bears.

Maine will also play FBS school Northwestern on Sept. 28.

Maine opens the season Aug. 31 at Norfolk, State in Virginia. They play their home opener against Bryant on Sept. 14.
