Colby College’s Patrick Stewart was named the Maine Men’s Basketball Coaches and Writers Association Rookie of the Week, while University of Maine at Farmington's Ben Johnson was named the Player of the Week.

Stewart is the third Colby player to earn the weekly honor. Chris Hudnut has earned the honor twice and Luke Westman once.

Stewart averaged 15.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, shot 64 percent from the field and didn’t committ a turnover as Colby went 1-1 last week.

Johnson helped UMF to a 3-0 record last week, averaging 16.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocks. He had a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebunds in a non-conference win over Bowdoin, then had 14 points and eight rebounds against Husson.
