ORONO — The University of Maine women’s soccer team was picked to finish seventh in the America East Preseason Coaches’ Poll, released Monday.
Boston University, which has won five straight America East titles, was selected first. The Terriers received eight first-place votes (coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team).
Hartford was picked second, followed by Albany, New Hampshire, Stony Brook, Vermon, Maine, Binghamton and the University of Maryland-Baltimore County.
Maine finished 5-9-1 last season. The Black Bears roster includes Waterville Senior High School graduate Jordan Pellerin, who played in all 15 of Maine’s game last season and led the team with four assists.
