FARMINGTON — University of Maine at Farmington junior Salena Sykes was honored as the North Atlantic Conference cross country runner of the year Wednesday.

Sykes won the conference championship Sunday with a time of 22 minutes, 21 seconds at Lyndon State College on Sunday.

Colby-Sawyer freshman Caila Walker, who finished second at 22:34.5, was named the conference’s rookie of the year.

Husson University’s Jim Karcanes was named the coach of the year for the second straight year.
