Blueprint for actionto counter recession

Kennebec Journal Staff

For more than a decade, I've had letters published as blueprints to prepare for the recession we're about to enter. Now is the time for direct action and this letter will propose a "three-prong economic counter attack."

The first counter assault is to mobilize those on welfare, the unemployed and retired people to invade Auburn three times per week. Their objective is to volunteer at the Good Shepard warehouse for four hours at a time and each take home boxes of food worth about $100 on the regular market. A reserve should be prepared to work in upcoming local community gardens. Whatever food they themselves cannot consume, should be shared.

Second group commits to outflanking overproduction. This will consist of seasoned sales representatives with a reserve of newly trained raw recruits. Their goal is to sell both innovative new products and antiquated overstocked goods along with services.

Third prong will need to split up to form a pincer movement. A mixture of various artists teamed with computer software specialists. Their mission is to create data for Internet web sites with cheap or free advertisements. These should advertise their own services as well as those of local independent businesses fighting overstocks. Those who succeed at generating many "hits," will attack corporate advertisers for self-sufficiency.

Business is war. Organizing the masses to volunteer without using violence can be accomplished with little or no assistance from the government. If we don't work together, then different types of work will disappear for individuals.
